While there’s a lot of negative buzz floating around the internet about DeviantART.com, this artistic community definitely has it’s “up” points. It’s true that it seems to be flooded with pre-teen and tween-aged kids just looking for attention some place other than myspace, but then again, so are almost all the free communities on the web nowadays. What’s awesome about DeviantART is that it’s a (relatively) supportive community for those out there with some artistic talent looking for encouragement, inspiration, and/or recognition for their work. For some, it’s even proven to be a good way to earn a bit of income on the side. All in all, it’s a great place for budding as well as established artists to set up shop, mingle, and just do their own thing on the web.
