I am an avid American Idol watcher. The show exhibits many amazing voices. America is founded, I believe, as a country with a strong voice. What better way to celebrate and enjoy the American life than to engulf ourselves with the joys of singing. For one lucky person American Idol is a dream come true. However, for many amazing and talented singers, American Idol is nothing more than another disappointment. In the beginning, when contestants “tryout,” they are immediately discrimintated from just because of their age. I know too many great singers above the age of 29, which is the age deadline of American Idol. We have too few adult roll models as it is. American Idol seems to just place more hormonal teens and immoral young adults as roll models for our once was amazing country.

I love American Idol. I watch it every time it’s on. This season (season 7) is going to be an incredible one. I think David Archuleta is going to go all the way for sure. The guy has an incredible voice. I don’t think I have heard a voice so good in my lifetime and the guy is 17!

I am always a little embarrassed to admit that I like American Idol, but I can’t deny it has a great appeal. I don’t watch much network television, but if I turn on the tube and find American Idol, I usually am hooked until the show ends. Sure it’s overly dramatic, but how can you help but get involved in the drama of a young person giving their all in the face of Simon’s criticism. These kids are amazing for their courage if not for their singing. If you haven’t ever watched it, give it a try. You will be pleasantly surprised.

I love American Idol. It is absolutely my favorite show. I’ve watched every episode for at least the past 4 years. I’ve even got my dad addicted to watching it!

I have been an American Idol fan since the second season. I do have to admit that the audition shows can get a little bit tedious, but the singing is always fun. I think that compared to many of the “reality” TV shows which just try to play on really gross or disturbing themes Idols can be a refreshing change. It is celebrating America’s undiscovered talent.
